As my son Bryce began kindergarten I purchased the “Children Learning Reading” system with high hopes that he would be quick to start reading.
(And excited about books.)
I found that the system can be an effective way to get your child to begin learning to read.
But, was it difficult?
Not at all. The lessons are only 5 – 15 minutes daily.
In today’s post I will cover my Children Learning Reading Review.
The Children Learning Reading Review
Does Children Learning Reading Work?
I discovered that children between ages 4-5 should begin “pre-reading” skills as described in this WebMD article, titled “When Should Kids Learn to Read, Write, and Do Math?“.
After reading that WebMD article I felt it was time for Bryce to really begin his path into learning how to read. And, I ordered the program.
I decided: “It’s not too expensive to try but could potentially make a huge impact.”
After using the system with Bryce, I began to see him make incredible accomplishments.
Here is my experience using Children Learning Reading
Getting Started: I had already started some training with Bryce, teaching him the sounds of letters and had been reading him children’s books. But, once we started the Children Learning Reading system I noticed he was far more engaged.
Sticking With It: I continued to teach each lesson slowly to Bryce, as I didn’t want to overwhelm him. I wanted to be sure the program was working. We completed each lesson thoroughly before moving on to the next. I was worried he would get bored, but instead he was excited for his lessons.
The Results: Now, Bryce is reading at a 2nd grade level after less than a year of using the program. He likes to pick out his own books and I can often hear him reading to himself across the room. The best part is the feeling of achievement that he has. He gets so excited to learn new words.
I was very happy with the results and Bryce’s response – he loves to read!
How does the Children Learning Reading system work?
Here’s why I believe the technique works:
First, keeping your child’s attention.
The short lessons (5 – 15 minutes) are the key to the program.
The designer of system (Jim) developed each stage with short lessons. So, that each lesson would be quick and short enough to hold your child’s attention span.
Second, simple and clear instructions.
The way that lessons progress gradually are simple and orderly at each stage.
This allows your child to learn in a step-by-step learning process. The program is designed in a very clear way and is easy to follow.
Third, supported by scientific research.
The program design uses a combination of 2 proven methods that actually work.
Backed by scientific research, Jim designed the system with these methods in mind allowing you to help your child become a fluent reader. The plan is in the process.
